Chamber Luncheons: February 10 - Jeremy Mathias, UAF School of Fisheries & Ocean Sciences Assistant Professor, will discuss the effects of ocean acidification on our fisheries.
CHOCOLATE SATURDAY IN SITKA! At the suggestion of one of Sitka's merchants, we're starting what may become a new Sitka tradition. Saturday, February 13 - All day! Participating merchants will offer some sort of chocolate treats to customers - chocolate kisses, brownies, hot chocolate, fudge, cookies, M&M's, etc. - along with their own mid-winter sales. Watch for posters in store windows of participating merchants.
Chamber Luncheons: February 17 - Governor Sean Parnell, the 10th governor of the State of Alaska.
The 2010 Lincoln Day Dinner will be hosted by the Sitka Republican Women on Wednesday, February 17, at the Channel Club. The invited speaker is Governor Sean Parnell. The dinner, of prime rib or seafood, will follow a cocktail hour and silent auction. Tickets, at $40, are on sale now. Reservations may be made by calling Lureen Stedman at 747-8905.
