Chamber Luncheon: September 1 - Hames Athletic & Wellness Center Task Force members, will explain the upcoming ballot questions concerning the center's funding.
Chamber Luncheon: September 8 - Dave Wolff, City Finance Director & Steve Bradshaw, Sitka School District Superintendent, upcoming city and school financial questions on the ballot.
Sitka Farmers Market, September 11: ANB Hall and parking lot. Open from 10am - 2pm.
Chamber Luncheon: September 15 - Assembly Candidates forum Hear from candidates: Terry Blake, Thor Christianson, Jack Ozment & Michelle Putz, and ask questions.

Season's End Celebration / Running of the Boots fun run - September 25, 10am - 3pm. Another summer is in its last days, and it will soon be time for us to celebrate all that went well. Free food, Lots of prizes, great shopping. Greater Sitka Chamber of Commerce. 747-8604 or chamber@ptialaska.net.
'Running of the Boots' takes off at 11am from Crescent Harbor.
FREE lunch starts at Noon on Lincoln Street.
The Alaska Cruise Association sponsors this celebration as a way of thanking Sitka for hosting their passengers throughout the summer.
Other 2009 sponsors included: Sitka Sound Seafoods, Seafood Producers Coop & Allen Marine.

Alaska Day Festival - October 9 - 18, 2009. The Alaska Day Festival is coordinated by the Alaska Day Festival Committee.
Moonlight Madness Shopping Event - Date TBA. 6-9PM. Be prepared for some creative costumes and great deals at your favorite stores.
This year's downtown Trick or Treating will happen on Halloween, Sunday, October 31, from 4pm - 6pm.

Special Holiday Shopping Events
Landlubbers Parade The Landlubbers Christmas Parade goes down Lincoln Street and ends at Kettleson Library, where Santa visits and shares treats with Sitka kids.
Christmas Lights - The mayor and the Chamber president judge residential holiday lights. Winners are announced before Christmas. 2009 Winners.
Business Holiday Decor Judging The Chamber recognizes and awards a prize for the best holiday decorations at a Sitka business. Judges look at exterior and interior decorations and how they work to attract customers to the store. The winner is announced after the New Year.

CHOCOLATE SATURDAY IN SITKA! Participating merchants will offer some sort of chocolate treats to customers - chocolate kisses, brownies, hot chocolate, fudge, cookies, M&M's, etc. - along with their own mid-winter sales.
